What the pros actually use
Different FPS titles ask subtly different things from a mouse.
We pull real mouse data from pro players across 9 titles. Below are the models they reach for most — not ads, just what pros actually run.

The 8 questions new players ask most
Straight answers on mice, sensitivity and grip.
What is DPI?
DPI (dots per inch) is how many cursor pixels the sensor reports per inch of mouse movement. Higher DPI means the cursor travels farther for the same hand motion. Most FPS players run a low DPI (400–800) for steadier recoil control.
How is eDPI calculated?
eDPI = mouse DPI × in-game sensitivity. It folds your hardware and your game setting into one number, so you can compare feel fairly across mice and games. For your exact eDPI, the in-site eDPI calculator is the most reliable.
What are the three grip styles?
Palm: the whole hand rests on the mouse — best with an ergonomic (right-hand) shape. Claw: fingers arched, palm lifted — feels best with a symmetrical mouse. Fingertip: only the fingertips touch — the most agile, suits small mice. Your grip decides whether you want symmetrical or ergonomic.
How do I measure my hand size?
Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the wrist crease (the fold at the base of the palm). Small <17cm (≈ an iPhone 17), Medium 17–19cm, Large >19cm. Hand size sets your mouse size class and drives how well it tracks in your hand.
How do I pick a grip style?
Match it to your hand and game: big hands and long tracking (e.g. Apex) → palm + ergonomic; small hands and lots of flicks → fingertip + small symmetrical; want a flexible middle ground → claw + symmetrical. There is no wrong answer — if it feels right, it is right.
How do I measure my hand accurately?
Sit up straight, rest your hand flat and relaxed on the desk, and measure from the middle-fingertip to the wrist crease (not the palm base). One size class off and you will end up with a mouse that is too big or too small, and tracking suffers. Match the number to the small / medium / large tiers.
What counts as a high eDPI?
There is no absolute cutoff — it is per game. VALORANT pros sit around 200–400, CS2 about 600–1200, Apex about 1200–1800, and Overwatch 2 can reach 3000–6000. "High" is relative: higher than most players in the same game means a higher sensitivity.
Read the full guide →Why does sensitivity vary so much between games?
Because each game has different character move speed, field of view, and engagement distance. Fast, big-swing games (OW2) want a higher eDPI; slow, precise aiming games (CS2 / VALORANT) favor a lower eDPI. Do not copy a sensitivity straight across games — convert with eDPI instead.
