Counter-Strike 2
Tactical 5v5 where round economy and sub-800 eDPI aim define the pro meta — data from 910 professionals.
Overview
View all players81% of tracked CS2 pros still play stretched 4:3 — a decade on, not one generation has dropped it. Counter-Strike 2 is where the FPS gear meta is set: 910 professionals in the ProAiming database, every mouse, DPI, eDPI, sensitivity and resolution on record. This page is what the pro field actually runs.
Why CS2 is the aiming benchmark
Counter-Strike 2 is Valve's tactical 5v5 shooter — bomb defusal rounds, an economy system that punishes waste, and duels decided by crosshair placement and a tap on the head. It replaced CS:GO on September 27, 2023 as the series' first Source 2 game, and its sub-tick netcode made input timing — not server tickrate — the thing players argue about. That argument lives on this page: of the 895 pros with a polling-rate record, 66% still run 1000 Hz and 17% have moved to 4000 Hz. Low eDPI (median 800) and stretched 4:3 are not relics here; they are the discipline the mode rewards.
The pro circuit in brief
Counter-Strike has no single league owner: Valve licenses third-party organizers to run the Majors — 32 teams, $1.25M, twice a year — while the rest of the calendar is filled by the tier-1 circuit. Team Vitality took both 2025 Majors, and Team Falcons won the Cologne Major in June 2026; the next Major lands in Singapore in late November. For settings and gear, the season structure barely matters — which is exactly what makes the distribution below so stable.

DPI
400 and 800 split the field almost exactly — two input generations coexist, and neither has won.

Polling rate
Sub-tick made tick-rate debates academic, yet most pros still take the safest number on the box.
Resolution & aspect ratio
Stretched 4:3 is a decade-old habit the field has not shaken — the ratio grants no aim advantage by itself; what it buys is wider player models and a flick distance pros already know.
