Our take 27 pros — the first ergonomic shell allowed to carry the Superlight name
For a decade the Superlight line made one promise and extracted one tax: ultralight wireless performance, delivered through a symmetrical shell that never once filled a palm properly. The DEX is Logitech admitting the tax — same mouse, new shape, and 27 pros in our database already moved.
Everything that matters under the shell is the Superlight 2's parts bin: HERO 2 with Power of 8 (44,000 DPI, 888+ IPS, 88G), LIGHTSPEED wireless at up to 8kHz natively — no dongle to buy, no dongle to lose — LIGHTFORCE hybrid switches that actuate optically but click like a mechanical, and 95 hours of battery. The shape is the news: an ergonomic, asymmetrical form Logitech describes as crafted for total right-hand control, co-developed with athletes across NAVI, G2, TSM, Astralis and FlyQuest RED. At 60 grams it weighs exactly what the Superlight 2 weighs — the entire ergonomic rear shelf came without spending grams. dziugss is our sample; the rest of the 27 are scattered across CS2 and Valorant rosters, and they all came from the same direction: palms that wanted more.
The short version: if you ever liked a Superlight 2 but felt your hand hovering over it, the DEX is not a compromise mouse — it is the same mouse minus the compromise. 60g, native 8K, 95h, and the first shell in this line that is actually about comfort.
It is a full-size ergonomic: fingertip and narrow-claw players who roam the shell with their fingers lose the freedom that made the symmetrical Superlight popular.
The two sit as equals in the lineup — nothing added for the shape, nothing taken off for it. Decide on your palm, not the spec.
Who it's for
- GPX2 owners who never got palm contact from a symmetrical shell.
- Palm and relaxed-claw grippers at medium-to-large hand sizes.
- CS2/Valorant grinders who want 8K without adding a dongle.
- GPW/DEX lifers migrating off wired comfort shapes to modern wireless.
Who should skip it
- Fingertip grippers — the rear shelf gets in the way of finger play.
- Smaller-handed players; the compact answer in this family is the 2c.
- Symmetrical purists who already own a GPX2 and feel no loss.
Alternatives to consider
Each is a real pick, not filler — with one concrete reason to choose it over this mouse.
The same machine in the old shape — the baseline the DEX assumes you're leaving.
G Pro X Superlight 2 →The other great modern ergonomic shell — 3g heavier, Razer's optical switches, and a taller hump than the DEX.
DeathAdder V3 Pro →The traditionalist ergo: no software, no settings rabbit holes, just the EC shape wireless.
EC2-DW →More from Logitech
FAQ
What makes the DEX different from the Superlight 2?
The shell. Internals are the same HERO 2 / native 8K / LIGHTFORCE package, but the DEX is Logitech's first Superlight in an ergonomic asymmetrical shape — more palm support, the same 60 grams. If you loved GPX2 performance but never felt held by the symmetrical flatten, this is the fix.
Is the DEX wireless limited to 4000Hz?
No. A circulated report claimed a support-page cap of 4000Hz; we checked the official product page directly: LIGHTSPEED runs up to 8 kHz, same as the Superlight 2. That claim traced to a fabricated URL — do not trust it.
Which grip is the DEX for?
Palm and claw. Official copy says the form was crafted for right-hand control and accommodates various grips — but buying a DEX over a GPX2 is buying palm support. Fingertip players generally stay symmetrical.
95 hours with 8K wireless — how?
HERO 2's power efficiency: the Power-of-8 platform does 95h at typical 1K-class use. At 8K polling battery collapses like every 8K mouse — the headline number is a 1000Hz figure.
DEX or Superlight 2 — same internals, so how do you choose?
Same internals, different shape philosophy — the question is purely your hand. 27 pros have switched in our database while far more still run the symmetrical GPX2. The DEX is for the palm-starved minority.
